The Bryan D. Hood Memorial Scholarship

In 2006, Bryan was a full-time college student pursuing a degree in criminology and a full-time EMT with the City of Hartford. He was fiercley loyal to his family, friends and co-workers and was passionate about saving lives. His own life tragically ended on October 28, 2006 in a motorcycle accident that also claimed the life of his girlfriend, Amanda.

As his memory lives on through those who knew him best, Bryan's dedication and passion for helping others continue in his name through a memorial scholarship and ongoing outreach promoting organ donation awareness. Bryan's gifts of life saved and improved the lives of more than 50 patients throughout the U.S. and his story has been shared with thousands of Connecticut residents since 2006.
